Many of the photographs on our site were taken by Ellen Powell, a Dunesland board member. Her parents, June and George Holland , were early members of Illinois Dunesland Preservation Society and were long-time friends of Jean and Leonard Yntema, founding members who are described on our History page. Ellen and her family have spent a lifetime enjoying and protecting the beauty of our park. Unless otherwise noted, the photographs were taken by Ellen Powell; you can feel her lifetime love of the park through her creative lens.
